Paul Kurucz, Certified Podologist #1-168
Let Paul Kurucz, Certified Podologist (Foot Care Specialist) assist you with your foot concerns, foot education, prevention of common foot ailments, and keep you mobilizing and “on your feet”.
The profession of Podology is highly recognized in Western Europe. As people in Spain, Holland, France and Germany normally have their hair cut by an apprenticed trained barber/hair dresser, most people have their feet regularly attended to by a certified Podologist.
Podologist’s training involve in-depth knowledge of the diabetic foot syndrome, callus and corn reduction, cutting and caring of involuted, ingrown and fungal nails, skin diseases, circulatory issues and biomechanical concerns.
As well, Paul is knowledgeable with current wound care practices and is able to address issues concerning ulcerations, cellulitis and more. As he is a certified compression fitter, Paul is able to assess and educate clients on circulatory issues and make recommendations, working closely with other members of the health care team.
Paul receives numerous referrals for his services from local physicians. Along with numerous years of specializing in dementia care, mental health care, palliative care and working with adults and children with disabilities, Paul is able to provide his special skills when working with physically and mentally fragile and compromised clients, including persons with Parkinson’s, ALS and MS, who commonly suffer from difficult foot issues.
The initial assessment involves recognition and treatment of many foot issues - including (but not limited to):
Concerns involving dry, cracked, flaky, and reddened skin
Education on the diabetic foot syndrome
Utilization of a Cosmoderm Pedie electric vacuum assisted filing machine - allowing for a detailed,
efficient treatment of nails and calluses/corns.
Gait analysis and biomechanics problems, assessing and education on footwear
Matters involving thickened, cracked, fungal, involuted and ingrown nails
Education and prevention on/as well as - reduction of callus and corns
Application of moisturizers during a foot and lower leg rub
Circulation and sensation testing. Education on circulatory system and issues
Education and prevention on cracked dry heels, plantar fasciitis, morton's neuroma, etc.
Documentation and charting are followed up with each visit.
Podologist's concerns can be referred to client's physician or other health care providers
